Shampoo made from cow urine? Icelandic scientists introduce new 'Q Shampoo'
FREE Catholic Classes
Scientists from Iceland launched the "Q Shampoo," made out of cow urine, claiming it is loaded with natural substances that are best for cleaning. Rich in ammonia, one of the main ingredients of hair care products commonly used today, this shampoo has hopes of being the solution to the long running quest for a really good hair product. Created by six students from the University of Reykjavik, the Q Shampoo was inspired by an old hair washing tradition from Icelandic women centuries ago.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - "Icelandic history tells us that girls used to mix urine into their washing water to clean and beautify their hair," said Anton Reynir Hafdisarson, one of the creators of the shampoo.
People are curious and excited over the Q Shampoo; it has boasted on doing wonders for human hair, that some people have already expressed their plan to try the product, he added.
The creators hope people will give the product a chance and become fans, instead of dismissing it due over the unordinary ingredient.
According to the Daily Mail, "Q" comes from same sound like the Icelandic term for cow.
"Some people think there is a slight whiff of urine in the soap. But that might just be because they know what's in the product. We think it is not noticeable," Hafdisarson added. The shampoo comes in a block-like form and contains sunflower and coconut oils, among other fragrances to hide the disturbing urine smell.
The co-creator admitted he is happily uses the product, proudly claiming that it is 100 percent organic with no other ingredients that are artificial with harmful by-products. As they launch Q Shampoo in Iceland, they hope for a good response and demand from the international market.
